As an illustrator, I have loved art since I was a kid. I've been in love with traditional works of art as well as children's books, such as The Giving Tree and the Geronimo Stilton series. I always try to tell a story in my pieces, even if there is no text. Whimsy and fantasy are two of my favorite themes because when you're able to create an atmosphere that any child would want to take a closer look at, I believe you have created a successful piece of artwork.
I have a strong belief in including the smallest details in my work—whether in digital or traditional formats—that could help any child or adult capture the story that the piece is trying to tell. Some of my key skills that show who I am as an artist are: character designs of humans, animals, and mythological creatures; use of saturated, vibrant colors; and creating magical lighting. I enjoy using gouache in my traditional work to achieve effects similar to the watercolor medium.
As a developing artist, I am learning to understand my own style of art. One day I would love to have my stories be shown to children around the world.
